Chapter 14

Leo was just too funny. Paolo loved it. He felt at ease with him, more so than most people he’d known all his life. Why was that? He couldn’t wait to find out the reason.

“So what happens now?” he asked sheepishly.

“We take this to the next level. And get to know each other better.” Leo leaned in while his gaze scorched Paolo’s lips. With a warm and gentle touch, Leo traced them, whispering, “By finding out how it will feel when we kiss.”

An electric spark heated Paolo’s entire body through the contact. How would it feel? By God, just Leo’s finger on his lips made Paolo excited beyond belief. Imagine what would happen when they kissed for the first time. It would be cataclysmic.

Paolo’s heart raced with anticipation. Could Leo hear it? Because it felt like the whole world could.

Gulping to open his throat and lungs, which had tightened, he rasped, “Why don’t you kiss me and let’s find out?”

Leo growled, cocking his brow. “That’s a brilliant idea.” He licked his lips before honing in on Paolo’s. Paolo closed his eyes savoring the moment. Soft, sweet, and delectable, those were the adjectives he’d use to describe one of his chocolate soufflés. He never would’ve imagined these also described Leo’s lips.

Paolo’s lips widened when Leo tilted his head to the left and his daring tongue wiggled into his mouth. It licked and danced with his.

Leo waggled his brow. “Oh, I knew it would be exactly like that.” He asserted with a part howl and part growl. “And I want more. So, so much more. I have to warn you that I have an insatiable appetite.”

Paolo chortled then purred, “I studied to be a chef, so I’ve been trained to please appetites just like yours.”

“Mercy, I can hardly wait.” Leo pushed the seat lever, drawing Paolo’s chair lower. Leaning in closer, his lips crushed Paolo’s.

Paolo’s stomach flipped as adrenaline and sexual awareness took flight. His cock hardened with his need for pleasure. Perhaps it was the three glasses of bubbly he had less than an hour ago that loosened the reins on his inhibitions, or perhaps it was something deeper and more meaningful that spurred him on, but he needed to be as close as possible to this godly shifter.
